In November, Archbishop José Luis Escobar Alas of San Salvador, El Salvador, announced the ninth case of sexual abuse of a minor lodged against Fr. Juan Francisco Galvez, El Salvador’s La Prensa reported. The archbishop urged all sexual abuse victims to come forward to church officials. He also questioned the existing statute of limitations, telling the Legislative Assembly, “The crime of sexual abuse against a minor should not expire.”
