Papal Commission on Clergy Sex Abuse Proposes New Members

Marie Collins, a member of Pope Francis’ commission on sexual abuse by clergy, told the Associated Press in October that a list of proposed new members will include another survivor of abuse. Collins, herself a survivor, said the panel has created working groups on bishop accountability, survivor outreach and how to keep abusers from being accepted into the priesthood. These recommendations and draft statutes have been presented to the pope for approval.
